→ No manual data entry or file maintenance; no media deployment hassles! Simply "drag & drop" your files (original or updates) into your MyTeamRoster private cloud portal and you are done! *Minimal file-prep required!(see #1-5 below).
1) Your player Roster, “roster.csv" file
→ Your coach will provide a roster to your Program Printer and your Broadcasting Staff. The roster is generally prepared in Microsoft Excel (xlsx file). If not, please ensure such is done in order to provide the proper format for auto-upload to the MyTeamRoster cloud.
→ The "roster.xlsx" file headers will need to match the format shown below to ensure that all player's data is available to the MyTeamRoster smartphone.app, and matches the printed-program and broadcaster's roster. This format is important since the file will auto-upload to the MyTeamRoster cloud.
→ Players who have the same number assigned will have "Multi-Assigned#" (see column B in the example below) designations: i.e.: a, b, c, etc., for each reassignment of a player's jersey number -- see the alternating "green & blue groups line shading depicting such in the example “roster.xlsx" file below.
→ Note how to handle unassigned numbers -- see (yellow line) example below -- if you wish to maintain such on your Roster, this is personal preference.
→ Prior to uploading, your Microsoft Excel Roster.xlsx file must be “saved as a csv file" and named “roster.csv". The file_format (file headers, multiple player# assignments, etc.), the file_name (“roster.csv") and Excel file-type (csv), are critical since the file will auto-upload into the MyTeamRoster cloud database (Click for sample roster.xlsx file).
2) Your player’s photo “player#.jpg" files:
→ All photo files must be in .jpg format (the most common format for digital photos). Your program printer, photographer or coach will acquire these files for the program. Ensure that the photo files are re-named to match each player’s roster number; i.e.: photo files must be named: 32.jpg, 12.jpg, 54.jpg, etc., to correspond to the roster.csv file.
→ Note: Many digital cameras produce very large photos by default; commonly in the 2397x3596 range and since most photos will be obtained from program photos, that are large print-sized photos, that are inappropriate for mobile app use. To address this problem, when you drag & drop your player photos (.jpg files) into the MyTeamRoster cloud all "ad.jpg" files will be auto-resized to 400 x 600 for mobile app use -- see note below regarding ad file auto re-sizing as well.
→ Important: If you have multiple players with the same number, then 32a.jpg, 32b.jpg, 12a.jpg, 12b.jpg., etc. sub-designation must be assigned accordingly.
→ Note: The re-naming of each photo file can be done prior to upload, or after upload using the MyTeamRoster cloud viewing & renaming feature (Click the "Rename Files" icon for details).
3) Your advertisements “ad.jpg" files:
→ You can have up to (6) ad files; they must be in .jpg format.
→ The ad files must be named: ad1.jpg, ad2.jpg, ad3.jpg, ad4.jpg., ad5.jpg and ad6.jpg.
→ Advertisements will display in numerical order, from left to right; thus, for example, if you have only (2) ads, you would want ad1.jpg and ad3.jpg, and to center the ads. Note: ads 1-3 are a higher priority, and should sell for more than 4-6.
→ All "ad.jpg" files will be auto-resized and display @ 300 x 396 when your drag and drop your ad copy -- this is to accommodate two rows of three ads per row on your smartphone. NOTE: "Tall rectangular vertical ads" will resize and look better than "short wide horizontal ads" (see example below):
4) Your school’s "logo.png file”:
→ Your school’s logo file must be named “logo.png" and it must be sized no larger than 114x114 pixel @ 72dpi -- see example below.
→ *Note that the ".png" file type and size is required to ensure compatibility with smartphone’s home-screen feature to set the MyTeamRoster.app on your smartphone’s home screen.
5) Upload all files to the MyTeamRoster cloud, all at once, or in multiple drag & drop sessions:
→ Logon to the MyTeamRoster cloud using your user_name and password, provided upon sign-up for our service.
→ Simply "drag & drop" all files into your private MyTeamRoster cloud directory (Click the "Upload" icon for details).
114x114 @ 72dip
Remember: If your subscription includes File-Management, we will handle all file-prep, simply logon to the MyTeamRoster cloud and "drag & drop" your roster, photos and ad files; we will handle all formatting, sizing, re-naming, etc., and ensure all is correct).
→ Logon to the MyTeamRoster cloud using the login user_name and password provided and simply drag and drop the “roster.csv" file into your MyTeamRoster cloud file server directory. Note: All of your player photo files (.jpg), ad files (.jpg or .png), your team's logo file (.png), and your "roster.csv" file, can be uploaded all at once, or in multiple drag & drop sessions.
Prior to uploading your roster.xlsx file after each edit: "Save" the file, then select "Save As", from the File Menu, and name it "roster.csv", this will make a ".csv" copy -- this is the file to upload.
Note: If your roster changes, simply repeat the process. Ensure that you delete your old roster prior to the drag & drop of your new roster (see reminder and instruction after logging on to the MTR Portal).
